Why? It’s National Handwriting Day!

There’s more to this little-known holiday than the opportunity to practice your penmanship. It’s actually the birthdate of John Hancock, our founding father whose handwritten signature played a key role in our country’s independence.

Fast forward from America’s early days to 1977 and the Writing Instrument Manufacturers Association (WIMA) dedicated January 23 as National Handwriting Day. Today, WIMA urges us all to “use a pen or a pencil to rekindle that creative feeling through a handwritten note.”

Here at Brafton, we love writing – whether we’re typing away on our computers or polishing our penmanship.

So on behalf of the Brafton team…
